Paramount uses frequent assessments to ensure no student falls through the cracks. The virtual academic programming includes student assessments through Cambium ClearSight (formerly AIRWays) three times per year. This formative assessment platform aligns with ILEARN, the Indiana state assessment, allowing online students to receive authentic practice with rigorous item types aligned to the Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards. The data breaks down student performance within all critical standards, allowing teachers to implement appropriate data-driven, differentiated instruction strategies for individual students between assessment cycles.
The Academy uses IXL for E/LA and math independent practice support. Lumos Learning, Edulastic, and Smarter Balanced are used for assessment preparation. And EdPuzzle, Screencastify, and Nearpod are utilized for response systems and live teacher-to-student feedback. Virtual students in grades K-2 receive weekly sight word assessments and fluency checks. In addition to our core curriculum (Amplify Core Knowledge), the virtual program integrates the Orton Gillingham reading program, a multi-sensory technique to reinforce phonics skills.
